In case you're new around here, music is a huge part of my life. I've traveled near and far to hear some of my favorite acts. I will get up in the wee hours of the morning to score tickets and I will plan out festival outfits months in advance.
My all-time favorite festival, Tomorrowland, is happening in Belgium from July 24th through 26th. For the first time in three years I'm missing the festival. What can I say? They didn't want to pay for my plane ticket and at this point I'm like their ambassador so I felt it was only fair.
Since I'm reminiscing about the festival, and because festival season is upon us, here's what I like to wear.
My first year at Tomorrowland I wore a lot of this:
My most important goal is to be comfortable. I would never advise heels, or even flip flops, tennis shoes are your best bet. After all, you'll be stomping and dancing and your feet are more important than festival fashion. I swear by these. I'm on my second pair and they come in bright, fun colors.
If you are attending the Tomorrowland music festival, I'm extremely jealous, and here's my 2015 guide on getting the most out of the festival. For those who've never heard of it, it's the largest electronic dance music festival in the world. WORLD. The biggest DJs, the most beautiful stages, incredible fireworks, and and people from around the world representing over 200 countries. I spend weeks trying to piece together my outfits and represent America.
Here are my top picks:

Lipstick. I'm obsessed with the Maybelline Lip Colors. My favorites right now are the matte ones. This is in electric pink and stays on all day. Really. This is especially important since you should be drinking water throughout the day.
Kimono. I love this look because it's a great way to cover up (especially when the sun is beating down on you) but you still want to stay cool. Also, love this white one. This off-the-shoulder white crop top (less that $10!) would go well underneath.
Jorts. I am a jean shorts girl for life and I can't get enough of them. I've worn these jean shorts the past two years in a row.
Hat. There isn't a festival I go to where I don't bring a hat. They are essential for keeping the harsh rays out of your eyes. I often opt for a neon snapback because that way I'm easier to identify in a large crown. Usually, everyone in the group wears one so we can be easily seen. I also like big floppy hats for when I'm trying to be cool and ethereal.
Hair Chalk–
this is a fun, temporary way to jazz up your hair. I love this stuff
because it washes out and you can change the level of intensity. Another fun festival go-to are flash tats. They can make any look more fun.
America. Whether I'm in the states (at say, TomorrowWorld in Atlanta) or abroad, it can't hurt to wear the American flag. Sometimes I go all out with American Flag Overalls:
Or for a more subtle look put on a hat or sunglasses.
Who am I kidding? Definitely go all out. It's more fun.
Fringe. You just can't go wrong with a fringe top or kimono. It makes any outfit more dramatic and fun. Plus, it's more fun to dance in! I also just bought this bag (only $29!). I usually like to bring a bag I know I don't really care about since I might ruin it at the festival.
Lastly, my favorite part: jewelry. I like to go a little crazy and get a lot of rings and bracelets. I get most of them at Forever 21 and stack them up. I might also throw on a tassel necklace or earrings.
