Sometimes the world seems like a terrible place. People are cruel or mean or unfathomable things happen without any real reason. But when floods in Houston and surrounding areas started, I kept seeing people from all over the world in all capacities do their part.
I have read countless stories but some of my favorites are from my friends. Such as Sarah who got her company to donate boats and her fiance physically took them down to Houston.
Taylor is encouraging you to donate to Austin Pets Alive for animal help and has started her own fundraiser! She's almost to her goal of $5,000. Even celebrities are giving back, such as Beyonce who's raising money for her home state. The Cowboys are playing the Texans and 100% of the proceeds from the game will go to relief efforts.

Then there is Laurel who emailed me to let me know that this “Texas Forever” shirt from Magnolia Market is donating all proceeds to relief efforts until September 30th. She also told me that students at Texas Tech are setting up blood drives because so many hospitals are short on supplies. Even if you can't donate money, you can still help in that way.
This “Texas Strong” t-shirt is also donating 100% of the proceeds to Global Giving for disaster relief. Emily Ley is donating 100% of the proceeds of this “Texas Strong” print to the Texas Diaper Bank.
Kammok who designs an (awesome) Texas flag hammock is donating 100% of the proceeds to disaster relief. There's also Bravelets who created a special Texas bracelet and 100% of the proceeds are going to the Red Cross. These catchy prints are donating 100% received from the sales to rescues including SPCA of Texas, Humane Society, and Austin Pets Alive.
This pretty Texas necklace is also donating 100% of the proceeds to Hurricane relief. This May Designs Texas notebook (comes in a variety of options) is also donating every dollar to charity. The make up brand Jouer will be donating 25% of all proceeds from its website to the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund when you use the code “HARVEY” at checkout.
James Avery is donating all proceeds from their Deep in the Heart of Texas charm to relief efforts as well.
