Today I woke up and I could feel a chill in the air. Just kidding. I live in Texas. And it's still mildly warm. I wore a fleece yesterday, even though the temperature read 68 degrees. But it is December so I thought I would anyway.
In November, however, we had freezing temperatures and even some mild snow (I'm calling it snow, get over it.)
Anyone that lives in Texas knows that our weather is unpredictable. But it also means that my favorite clothing item of all time, flip flops, can be worn year round.
Everyone loves flip flops. I don't know anyone in the world who doesn't. But there's something particularly special about flip flops that give back. I was lucky enough to be invited to the Hari Mari headquarters in Dallas this past week. The concept is simple, create cute, stylish, comfortable, flip flops and donate to charity. The company was started when husband and wife team Jeremy and Lila. They noticed that the flip flop trends were unchanged- and a little boring I might add, all black and brown styles. They decided that they could make even better flip flops (think lime green, pink, aqua) that also benefited others. The Hari Mari Concept was born. For every pair of shoes purchased, they give $3 to help fight pediatric cancer at Cook's Children's Hospital in Dallas.
Best of all? It's a local Dallas company. Well that, and the fact that they are the most comfortable flip flops on the planet. I picked out these awesome mint and leather flip flops. They are pretty and functional, and even have arch support. I'm so impressed with how high quality these flip flops are, I know I'll be wearing these for a long time.
Just in time for the holidays, they are giving my readers 20% off with code “helene” here! This is the perfect gift for everyone on your list, and they are launching a brand new waterproof line! I'm picking some up for my cruise in February!
Now if it could just be a little bit colder outside, that'd be great!
