It's not too often (see also, never) that I post a recipe on the blog. But when it's one that is this good and this bad for you I figure it might be worth your while. The recipe is from Taste of Home and is titled “Over the Top Blueberry Bread Pudding” and when they say over the top, they mean it.

I brought this over to my Friendsgiving party last weekend and it was a hit. It also might have to do with the fact that I add a little something something to the sauce. That something something is alcohol. Which we know makes everything better.

Ingredients:
3 eggs
4 cups heavy whipping cream (Yeah I told you, over the top)
2 cups sugar
3 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 cups fresh OR frozen blueberries
1 package (10-12 oz bag) white baking chips
1 loaf French Bread, cut into 1 inch cubes (about, who knows if I'm really cutting this into one inch cubes.)

Sauce (Remember Sauce is the Boss)

1 package (10-12 oz bad) white baking chips
1 cup heavy whipping cream
Optional: a dash of whiskey

What you do:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°. In a large bowl, combine eggs, cream, sugar and vanilla. Stir in blueberries and baking chips. Stir in bread cubes; let stand 15 minutes or until bread is softened.
  2. Transfer to a greased 13-in. x 9-in. baking dish. Bake, uncovered, 50-60 minutes or until a knife inserted near the center comes out clean. Let stand 5 minutes before serving.
  3. For sauce, place baking chips in a small bowl. In a small saucepan, bring cream just to a boil. Pour over baking chips; whisk until smooth. Serve with bread pudding and a smile.

And now to make this blog post even sweeter, I have Kristyn from Chits and Giggles. First, that blog name- genius right? Kristyn is both parts kind and real. She writes straight from the heart. Her posts are entertaining and informative. She's truly the best of both world. So take it away Kristyn!
Hello Helene in Between readers!  Don't you just love her?  She really is fabulous.  You might be curious who I am and what I am doing on her blog.  Well, my name is Kristyn and I blog over at Chits and Giggles.  Yea, it's a funny name…and I give total credit of the name to my fiance Jeremy.  Thanks Jerm!
You have a series on photoshop, what's your favorite thing to photograph?
Yes, I am attempting to learn Photoshop and thought it would be fun to feature my learnings on my blog.  I mean, why can't other people learn along with me?  Makes sense, right?  My favorite thing to photograph is either my cat when he wants to be a model or things in nature.  I love natural pictures like the mountains below.  I also love pictures of flowers too.  I have found that learning to use my camera on flowers has been pretty darn effective.
What's the most interesting thing about meeting someone you end up marrying online?
Yes, my fiance and I met online.  Shocker, right?  Well…I think it fits us both so well and why not meet someone online?  It's so much better to be in a relationship with a human being than my cat, so it's a win in my book.
I think the most interesting thing I learned is that while not everything looks like their profile picture, most guys are pretty darn genuine and are willing to make you (the lady) feel the most comfortable.  This was so true during first meetings with guys.  They would come up to where I lived (not my house…hello creepers) and we would go somewhere that I chose.  I never had a super scary experience with anyone I met online (and no…Jeremy wasn't the only guy I met online).  He just happened to be the best and the one that stuck around!
What's one of your favorite posts you've written?
I love writing about recipes, but I think my most favorite post is about body image and what a size 8 is like in the modeling world.  Crazy, right?  But I love that post and how real I ended up being.  Not that I'm not real all the time, but this was super raw.  Check it out here!
And I obviously can't mention the post about my engagement.  I mean, that kinda started the whole Wedding Wednesday linkup!  There's a video and everything…you should watch it!
What's the biggest risk you've ever taken- was it worth it?
When I was a senior in high school, I had planned on going to Auburn with a girl from my high school.  We were going to room together and be besties.  Well, that didn't work out.  My memory is fuzzy, but we called the school and ended up getting “pot-luck” roommates instead.  This is when the school will just put you in a room with someone.
I do think that they have some sort of matching requirements that they go through, but I had no idea who I was going to be living with and didn't officially meet her until she got to school in August (I was there a week early for rush).  After many phone conversations and way to many AIM chats, we finally met.  And boy–it was truly the biggest risk ever, but totally worth it.
We are still besties and I can't wait to see her little baby girl come into this world in April.  And she is such a trooper to want to still be in my wedding after having a girl 8 weeks (or so) earlier.  Such a trooper!
What's your go to jam?
Hmmm…that is such a good question.  I am going to say anything from Mumford and Sons.  I love them like no other band ever.  I'm like a high school kid when Backstreet Boys and N'Sync came around.  I just love them to pieces!
mumford and sons concert
Yep…my lifelong dream of seeing them in concert came true!  I got to see them in September and I will never forget it.  Now….I just need to find a way to Hogwarts.  I keep wondering why my acceptance letter hasn't come yet.  Sigh.
It's your last meal on earth- what do you choose?
Oh lord.  You see, I LOVE food.  Like LOVE LOVE LOVE it.  My sister and I joke that her and I have the “Carlin 2nd stomach”.  No matter how full we might be, there is ALWAYS room for dessert.  And it's so true.
I think I would choose comfort foods.  Mac and cheese, fried chicken, collard greens, green bean casserole.  That kind of thing.
Favorite Disney Movie?
I doubt that any of my readers know this, but I used to see EVERY Disney movie that came out.  In the theatre.  No matter how old I am.  This hasn't been so true as of late (getting Jeremy to go to an animated movie is kinda hard), but I do watch every one of them regardless.
But I digress.  My favorite of all time is Lion King.  I know every song.  I can almost quote the entire movie.  I LOVE LOVE LOVE it.  I bought the 2nd CD that came out with the movie (much music from the Broadway Lion King is from this CD) and I saw the 2nd movie in theatres.  I don't know why but this just holds a special place in my heart.
Simba and Nala all the way, baby!
Karaoke song of choice?
Don't Stop Believin, Journey.  Duh!
