You guys know that I’ve been going to the beach for the past 28 years of my life – yes, this totally means since I was in the womb because that’s how much I love the beach! I might be able to live on a beach – if sand didn’t get into places that it does. I’ve had the pleasure of traveling to a lot of places so I figured it was time to expand my beach list. Here’s my list of the top 5 beaches in the U.S. that I wouldn’t mind having someone Plumfunding for me (hint hint).
1. Miami Beach, FL
I realize there was no way this list was going to happen without Miami Beach. Miami Beach is the place to go if you’re a party beachgoer. They have a stretch of their beach that’s clothing optional, so if you’re looking for a wild night – Miami Beach is your destination. Plopped in the middle of Miami’s nightlife, it’s is the perfect place to unwind after a long night of dancing.
2. Myrtle Beach, S.C.
Myrtle Beach is South Carolina’s largest resort. Not only can you lay beachside but there are also lots of activities like fishing, swimming, surfing and so much more that will leave you needing meal replacement shakes just to keep up. If you’re traveling with a significant other, this is definitely a place that will allow you both to spend time together, while also having so many activities for you to do your own thing as well.
3. Coast Guard Beach Cape Cod, MA
Like your water a little cool? Or enjoy the sun just peaking out through the clouds? Though chilly water sometimes limits swimming, this is the perfect beach to go on a cool morning run. Local architecture is also an attraction so as you lay your head on the beach you can enjoy the skyline as well.
4. Duke Kahanamoku Beach, Oahu, Hawaii
It’s a beach in Hawaii – need I say more? Kahanamoku was the Hawaiian Olympic gold medalist who made surfing the popular sport that it is now. This beach is filled with small waves and it’s right next to the Ala Wai Yacht Harbor and the Duke Kahanamoku Lagoon. There’s an offshore protective reef so you don’t have to worry too much about distance on this wide beach.
5. Ocean City Beach, MD
Clear water and blue skies – that’s my kind of beach. Ocean City Beach is notoriously known for their boardwalk. With lots of attractions and amusements, along with some of the best food, it’s your one stop shop for the best beach day ever. You can stay at the Princess Royale and not only have an ocean side view but walk over to the beach whenever you’d like and with a gazebo bar beachside, you may just never even go back to your room.
These are my top 5 beaches in the US and I’m sure that there’s way more that are worth visiting. One thing’s for sure, I can’t wait to start planning my next beach getaway. Where’s your favorite beach? Let me know if there’s any I should add to my list.
