You guys, tomorrow I am finally announcing the project I've been working on for… well forever it feels like. I'm excited and nervous and elated and can't believe this day is finally here.
I've been working on this night and day for months, but it's really been a dream every since I started blogging.
When I first started blogging I was really clueless. At the time, I was working in special events at the Dave and Buster's headquarters in Dallas and spent my lunchtime blogging and reading others stories.
I was SUPER sporadic. I honestly didn't really understand the mechanics of how it really worked or why anyone in their right mind would want to read what I had to say.
Then something life changing happened. I fell 20 feet rock climbing and I was out of work for months. I was angry and in pain and bored. So I dedicated my time to my blog. I made blogging my job for those months that I was out of work. I was instantly addicted.
Here I was, alone all day, but I could turn to my blog and the community that I created for myself online.
I slowly started creating a blog that I cared about, and others did too. I relied on my marketing knowledge, social media skills, and my job in online marketing and advertising. But my “lightning bulb” moment was when someone commented on my blog. I realized that it would take some hard work and dedication, but the ultimate way for me to succeed with my blog was to create a community that cared.
As my blog grew, I started realizing that I wanted to do this full time. I wanted to create a way to help other bloggers succeed.
I spent a lot of time doing the wrong things. I tried to make money a lot, but couldn't figure out what clicked. Then, I started selling t-shirts. It was going well, but I didn't plan and soon that fell apart as well.
I spent a lot of time listening to advice that was ridiculous. I was told to pick a niche. But I didn't want to. I wanted to write about my life, travel, what was trending, and blogging. I felt like I could carve out my own path without having to pick a niche, stick to one subject, or listen to these “experts.”
I've worked all kinds of marketing and social media jobs. I knew what it would take to succeed. I needed to do it my way. And so I did. I decided to stop and focus on something totally different that all bloggers could use, hopefully for years to come.
All will be revealed tomorrow.
For those who have seen it, heard me talk about it, or just been around me for the past 6 months – thank you. Thank you for your support, honest feedback, and letting me vent to you. I built this from the ground up, so I wanted it to be perfect before releasing it.
I cannot wait!
Lastly, I'm hosting a FREE workshop on Wednesday with one of the coolest guys I've ever met. Darrell is straight up BRILLIANT and lives here in Nashville. He's created MULTIPLE 6 figure companies and now he's working with Convertkit (that's who I use for my email subscribers.)
We're getting together to host a free webinar on how to get your first (or next) 1,000 email subscribers.
In this day and age, you gotta have a newsletter. It's the BEST way to stay in contact with people who follow you. If you ever want to monetize your blog or really want to make an impact, you need a newsletter. Period.
So mark your calendar, and sign up right here to get to hear Darrell and I tell you the exact steps for getting your next 1,000 email subscribers.
Can you imagine? 1,000 people reading your next post, commenting on your blog, and maybe even purchasing a product? I can tell you this… you can do it. In the last few months I've gone from 4,000 email subscribers to now 7,000. And that's without spending a dime. See how I did it and sign up here.
