Don’t let cold weather deter you from feeling like you’re at the beach all year round. There are plenty of ways to make your home feel like paradise even in the dead of winter. Check out these seven tips on how to bring paradise into your home.

1. Choose the Right Paint Colors 

There’s no doubt about it, some colors just take you away to the beach. Paint your walls with a color that make you feel like you are somewhere warm and balmy like Tropical Tide or Linden Green. Or choose a gray with a green undertone that will remind you of the sea. Gray is a trending paint color right now, so it won’t be hard to match. Pastels are currently popular, too. Choose pastel paint colors, like coral, to accent different areas of your home. It will take you back to sunny drives in ocean towns with pink, green and yellow house lined up by the beach.

2. Pick out Beach-themed Flooring 

There are plenty of flooring options in every type that will bring a coastal feeling to your home. Light blue mosaic tiles or white porcelain tiles will keep your space cool and light. In the winter, add some rugs for more warmth in your rooms. Certain hardwood flooring will make your home feel like a beach house. You can be sure to bring that beachy feeling to your home by trying wide plank hardwood for the boardwalk look or timber wood. If you already have hardwood flooring, but you don’t think it gives off beach vibes, try painting it white. White painted floors will make your home feel brighter and cover up any imperfections. If you really love carpet, go with a sisal carpet to get a natural, woven look in your house.

3. Use Beachy Furniture 

Buying beachy furniture doesn’t necessarily mean filling up your house with wicker chairs. A couple of rattan seating options wouldn’t hurt, but try choosing furniture that doesn’t look heavy and bulky. Rather, go for clean lines in your tables and couches. Find the right bedding for your home that makes you feel like you’re on vacation. Buy some great quality pillows and lots of them for that beach house look. Choose light and airy colors that remind you of the sea, like greens and blues. Your bedroom should be a place of relaxation and rest. Make it look tranquil with these colors and get ready for a great night’s sleep with comfortable bedding.

7. Clean Out Your Clutter 

The best part of being on vacation is the feeling of relaxation and comfort. The fact that you don’t have to clean just adds to that feeling! You are going to have to clean your home, but make it easy by regularly getting rid of the things you don’t need. Throw out excess junk and make your house look and feel sleek, modern and restful. Remove clutter from your home to give yourself more space and more peace.
