I either absolutely love something or despise it. The same goes for reading. I devour books with a fierce passion and want to tell everyone all about them. Or, I hate a book so much that I need to let everyone know to steer clear. Here's what I've read to far this summer and most of the books are 5 stars or no stars at all. Well, there are some in between's.

I gobbled this up so fast. I am huge fan of Moriarty books and knew I would dive right into this one. The story, like most of her books, focuses on the lives of three different women, all different ages. You know that there's a secret, and you're trying to figure it out along with the characters. It was engaging and interesting.
Where'd You Go Bernadette by Maria Semple
This is a must read. I was hooked from the start by the charming Bee, her brilliant and sometimes bipolar mom, and her genius father. The story is told from the child's perspective, but in a smart, witty way. I laughed out loud at night while reading this in bed. The story takes place in Seattle and follows the life of the once revolutionary architect Bernadette who's now gone missing, while Bee tries to piece together where she went.
Girls In White Dresses by Jennifer Close
For some reason, I thought this would be a book I could relate to. I was very wrong. I was bored and annoyed throughout the whole book. The book has no real plot and follows various girls on their love life trials and tribulations. They are whiny and unrealistic and I hated all of the characters. I'm adding the buttons below but my recommendation is to SKIP IT.
We Were Liars by E. Lockhart
This book was very surprising to me. It just wasn't what I thought it would be in the least. The story plays like a fairytale. A beautiful young girl, a distinguished, rich family on an island. But something happens. She's fallen and can't remember. To me, this book had a lot of unanswered questions and loose ends. I liked it as a summer read, but it wasn't my favorite by any means.
The Sea Of Tranquility by Katja Millay
I loved both of these characters so fiercely. I desperately wanted to know what happened to this broke girl, and equally broken boy. Sometimes stories of horrible things make me so sad or angry, but the characters are so intricate you feel so many different emotions. It's somehow heartbreaking and uplifting, and a good reminder there's always hope.
