After moving home from Europe my heart still seemed to remain at the beautiful ski chalets and magical Christmas markets. So when I went to decorate my home for Christmas I knew I wanted it to be something special. That's why I decided on a red and white Christmas tree with buffalo plaid on a flocked tree.
I've never had a themed Christmas tree before so I was really excited to decorate this. Some of the features I really like are the ribbon and the faux fur trim. I shopped at Walmart for the tree and much of the decor as well as Target and Home Goods. I've listed all of my purchases here so you can easily shop.
For the first time ever, I have this tree in my home office so that I can sit right next to it and see it all throughout the season. I got the flocked tree from Walmart and I set it up myself in about 15 minutes- it's very easy! I will say the flocking does come off easily but I just swept this up. It's also a good price so I recommend it.
The dogs seemed to like the setup as well!
I thought this would take a long time to set up, but with the theme idea, it actually made it pretty easy. To set it up, I started with the faux fur and wrapped it around and down the tree. With the plaid ribbon and red ribbon I broke them up and placed it down the tree. I found this video really helpful for figuring out how to place the ribbon on the tree.
From there I placed the large items like the berry and gold glitter stems. Then I put the red, mauve, and gold ornaments around the tree as well as the poinsettias. I really liked the vintage look of these ornaments. Then topped it off with a star.
I also placed some hanging signs (and skis!), pillows, and a tree skirt around the tree so it looks put together.
