If you've read this blog for a while, you know that I'm an open book. I'll tell it like it is- whether something is successful or just plain fails.
When I start new endeavors, I get nervous: will people like this? Is this dumb? Does anyone care? And most importantly: am I providing real value?
Growing up (and still to this day) I always have a new idea I want to embark on. Like when I had a lemonade stand, it was no ordinary lemonade stand. I began making bracelets and selling those. I created “custom” signs and put my hand-prints on them so people would see my sign and know that it was Helene's lemonade. In the colder months, I'd go door-to-door, singing Christmas carols (or just regular songs) then ask for a dime… or a quarter.
I'm sure my parents constantly apologized to the neighbors.
I've tried a number of different projects on this blog. Some have worked and some haven't. When I started my free webinar: Get Paid to Blog, I was ecstatic with the turnout. A little over 1,000 (!) people watched the live or the replay of the webinar. Then I introduced my first course/webinar: Instagram For Success. This is something that I'd been working on for months and I was hoping people would be excited about it as I was.
My goal was to have at least 25 people sign up. 76 people signed up.
I knew this needed to be good. It needed to be something different than anything else out there but relatable to those wanting to grow their Instagrams as well as their blog or website.
Of course, this week had to be the week that life kind of slipped out from under me. I really wasn't prepared to handle the stress and pressure that occurred and I was worried the webinar would be affected.
However, it had the opposite affect. As soon as the webinar started I felt energized and excited to get to talk about something I'm so passionate about. This might sound silly, but getting to talk to people and help them makes me feel like I'm doing something positive. Honestly, we're all just trying to do our best and learn from one another and I hope I can continue to do that.
I felt so empowered by the feedback that I knew this is only the beginning of courses to come.

webinar, I was getting so frustrated with Instagram to a point where I
was almost done. Helene, not only was all the hard work you put in to it
evident, but you have such a passion for Instagram
and blogging that it gave me a renewed joy about it. I'm so excited to
be posting every day. ” – Courtney, The Everyday Elegance
“Helene is brilliant! She really works for bloggers and shops to bring
them the best tips and tricks to increase their following and grow their
business. She is so skilled and really understands the business of
blogging. She's not afraid to share her secrets and the information no
one else will tell you. I will take every webinar and e-course Helene
offers.” – Helen, Hel on Heels
I think sometimes your plans have to be shaken up a little bit to see what's really important, what matters, and what really makes you happy. I'm not normally very serious on this blog, but I think that's the meaning of life. Being happy and confident in what you're doing. I'm slowly getting a handle on that. Sometimes you just have to fall down first to figure that out.
For those that attended the webinars- thank you so much. And if you missed
out, don't worry, I have something else up my sleeve that I'm
announcing next week. Signing up for my newsletter is the best way to find out about deals, exclusives and what's to come.
Lastly, I really appreciate you all for reading this blog and just being awesome at life.
