I always find it interesting what women wear on their face. There are so many different products out there. The makeup industry is over-saturated with options, so I like to see what others use. Here's a snoop inside my everyday makeup. But when I say everyday, I mean a few times a week. If I really want to be fancy I'll throw in some eyeliner, eyeshadow, and other items I'm not entirely sure on how to use.
I feel a little bit weird talking about beauty, since I'm no expert and most days I look more homeless than not. But a few of you requested it, so I thought, why not?
Below is also the case I use when traveling, otherwise it's kept in my very organized makeup drawer. No, I'm not kidding, it's pretty much the only organized thing I have. I'm very proud of it.
I'm going to go in the order I put it on my face, not necessarily how it's displayed above. All of these I use everyday, and have been for years. Some of these I've owned for over a year. That's how you know it's good, right?
First I start with the IT Cosmetics CC Cream. It's kind of expensive but I really like how light it is and it has an SPF, which I need for how pale I am. I use that hot pink beauty blender thing-a-ma-bob that I got from Forever 21 for literally $1. I saw one the other day at Sephora for $18. Girl, please. This works just fine.
Then I use the Bahama Mama Bronzer which again is a little more pricey, but I'm a bronzer snob. I've tried them all. I also like Benefit's “Hoola” bronzer since both are matte and don't have any flecks of shimmer in there. How can I look natural with glitter? I cant. I use the Real Techniques brush to put it on (it's cheap, I'll never understand expensive brushes.)
Next up is blush, I use Benefit's Coralista, it looks like you're wearing blush without wearing blush. Well, at least I think it looks semi natural. I sometimes use Bare Mineral's powder over everything to help tone down the bronzer and in my head I think it helps set my makeup. I'm not entirely sure if that works.
I swear by Loreal Double Extend Mascara. I've tried all the expensive ones and they don't compare to this $7 mascara. It doesn't flake and it just seems to work well for big, bold lashes. Lastly, my favorite: lipstick. All of the Maybelline lipsticks work well, but I really like the Matte shades lately. This one in particular is called “Touch of Spice”. It's the kind you can wear everyday without looking too lipstick-y, in technical terms.
Hope this was somewhat interesting. What are your makeup staples?
