Giving gifts is hard. I really thought I was good at it. I try to listen to what people like and what the obsess over. But really, how many more times can you give someone a candle? I think I've hit my limit when it comes to candle giving. And lotion. Getting a gift for your friends is hard, but this year I had a plan.
My best friend has had a long year. She also thinks of the perfect gift for every occasion. So this year I wanted to give her something different- something we could do together, where drinking could be involved.
This year, I'm using Groupon for local, fun experiences in my area. I wanted something where we could talk, laugh, and drink: Sip-N-Doodle. A two hour BYOB painting class for two. We'd be designing a piece of artwork on a blank canvas to take home with us.
So, to give her the gift, I wanted to be creative. I wanted it to be pretty and sparkly and girly. So I headed to Target, found some gold sparkly bows, stickers, paint brushes and two plastic martini glasses.
I used gold paint pens to write our names on it and wrote our initials on each pain brush.
Then I invited her over to watch some Christmas movies and set up the glasses.
I made some martinis, added some olives, then I had her open her gift!

She was so excited! And now we have something we can do together this Holiday season. I'll be sure to update you when we go so you can see our masterpieces.
