Easter gets the short end of the stick when it comes to holidays. You don't hear anyone picking Easter as their favorite. We don't spend months and months with decorations for the season. There aren't movies that come out every year dedicated to Easter. But here are some real reasons to get into Easter (besides the whole Jesus raised from the dead thing.)
Candy. Reese's peanut butter eggs are the best kind of candy. You can't get these year round. Only when it's Easter. They're kind of like crack. Oh and Cadbury eggs are alright too.
Clothing. Easter pastels have got to be the best holiday color combo. And we can't forget about Easter bonnets and bows. (Sometimes I wish I could dress like a 6 year old.)
Bunnies. Last year my Mom brought home a blue stuffed Easter bunny that sang “Here Comes Peter Cotton Tail” (please tell me you know this song?) and now I kindly took it from her. Bunnies are freaking precious.
Family time. My family still hunts for Easter eggs and makes dinner together. See, now you can understand why I never want to grow up.
Eggs. If you don't like decorating Easter eggs then you probably aren't a very nice person. My family doesn't dip dye them, we use sharpies and draw designs. Story time: 5 years ago I was mad because Michael basically told me he wasn't proposing until after grad school (lies.) So that day, I drew engagement rings all over my egg. Little did I know, he planned to propose later that day. We still have the egg.
Days off. We could all use a break, am I right?
Lent is over! After 40 days and 40 nights of giving up something you can have it now! So, Sarah, can finally have Starbucks.
Ok that's all I've got, I'm over here counting down the days until the Fourth of July. ‘Merica.
