First I want to say thank you!! I was nominated for The Best Local Blogger in Dallas and although I didn't win, I can't even believe that so many people voted for me! I didn't do a giveaway to try and win votes or promise discounts on ad space, I simply just asked for votes and y'all voted. I can't tell you how much that means to me and I am so honored that you took the time to vote. THANK YOU! And third place ain't bad if you ask me.

Saturday was the wedding of one of my friends from high school. This meant a high school reunion (I say that, but I still hang out with all of my high school friends). This also meant free alcohol, food, and dancing. You just can't go wrong.

I am so exhausted from this weekend. During lunch you can find me taking a nap under a tree in my car. I'm serious. Michael put me to work this weekend in the yard. Yard work is hard. And I never want to do it again. Please and thank you.
One of our tasks was cleaning out the gutters. Michael said, oh this will take 20 minutes! No. It took an hour and 20 minutes. I'm still mad at him over that.

A selfie of anger. And dirt on my face. You're welcome for this.

Sami's Shenanigans

And now because I'm so utterly exhausted, that's all I've got. But I do have someone for you to meet! It's Janna from Faith, Love, and Hope! and I know you will LOVE her!

1. When did you decide to blog or what inspired you?

I first began blogging about 1 1/2 – 2 years ago. I had been reading other blogs and became really inspired to get my story out there. My first blog however, was a complete mess. I didn't know what to do or how to go about having a blog. I tried so hard to be witty, funny…even obnoxious but nothing felt right until I came across a blog that was so encouraging and uplifting that it made me rethink why I wanted to blog in the first place. Even today, the same blogger inspires me to write about what I'm passionate about even if it's not something everyone agrees with. Since then, I have been blogging about deployments, my faith, and family.
2. Where did you come up with your blog title?
Ha, well since my blog is ever evolving as I learn and grow, it used to be called, Who Am I? as I searched for who I really was. I was so conflicted until I came to the realization that I needed to stop trying to label myself and just accept who I was without being afraid of being judged. After that, my blog became Faith, Love, and Hope when I was flipping through my Bible and came across 1 Corinthians 13:13. The verse just resonated with me and it reflected my newfound views. Since then, FLH has stuck and it reminds me how important it is to have faith, love, and hope in your life.

3. You have a bucket list, what's the most important thing on that list?

To really forgive the people who have hurt me. Over the past six years, people extremely close to me have hurt me in ways I never imagined possible. I have had my best friend turn on me, my family do unspeakable things in an effort to sabotage my marriage, and other things that still hurts my heart. I really want to forgive them and finally move on with my life. Until I am able to, it feels like I'm stuck and I hate that feeling because I don't want to live in the past anymore.

With two deployments behind me and currently going through a third one, I need to start living in the present before it's gone.
