This past month I've traveled to Memphis, Orlando, Destin, and Arizona (next week!). Almost every weekend was filled with being on a plane, a hotel, or packing for said destination. As I've said before, I live to travel. I love going to a new destination, even if some of these trips were work related.
But the one thing that I always fail at when traveling: staying healthy. Keeping up my diet and workout routine can be really hard. But these past few weeks I finally stuck with it. I wanted to share some of my tips and tricks on how I did it.
1. Have healthy snacks readily available
I am a snacker. When I get hungry I get angry and I'll pick up just anything nearby, no matter the calorie count. When I have healthy snacks I can grab, I'm more likely to make the healthy choice. I packed granola bars, fruit, and pre-portioned bags of rice crisps.
2. Work out
If I work out the rest of the day I don't want to “mess up” because I'd ruin my workout. I started doing the Kayla Itsines' Bikini Body Guide (she's insta famous) and it is killer. But instead of just hoping I'd do it, I actually printed out the guide and put it in a spiral notebook so I could carry it in my laptop bag.
3. Get some greens
I make sure there is always something green on my plate for lunch and dinner. This helps me balance my meal. I am in a new place, and I do want to try the food, but I don't necessarily need french fries on the side.
4. Take the longer way
I was at a convention in Orlando and there were escalators everywhere. I took the stairs. I made every effort to try to move my body around. Sometimes, I even went to the bathroom that was farther away, just to move more.
5. Start and end the day with SkinnyMint Teatox
Teatox= tea+detox. This is a 28-day program that's effective and natural to help you reach your healthy goals. It's not a diet or meal plan, but a 2-step tea detox program.
SkinnyMint tastes delicious. It's formulated with all natural ingredients and scientifically formulated to work together to help detox your body.
You start with Morning Boost every morning, then every other night you'll do the Night Cleanse. The Morning Boost is a way to kick start your day. It's made with Green tea, Yerba Mate, Guarana, and grapefruit leaves. The Night Cleanse naturally cleanses the body and helps calm the nerves before you go to bed. One thing I have a very hard time with when traveling: falling asleep (which, might make me skip my workout when I'm sleepy). This is made with ginger root, lemongrass, senna leaves, and psyllium husk.
Want to try it for yourself? Enter for your chance to win one of 50 packs of 28 Day Ultimate Teatox.
These are my 5 ways to stay healthy, and I can tell you, it has actually worked. I haven't come back from vacation or travel feeling bloated and gross (like I usually do.)
