Hello from over 100 degree temperature. Everything is sweaty. My eyeballs to my earlobes to my kneecaps. I know, it's the summer, but I'm not going to stop remarking about the damn heat. I'm sitting, looking at my dogs who are huffing and puffing so loudly you would think they just ran a marathon, instead of just trying to outwit a scrappy squirrel.
Some days, I like to look half-way decent. Not every day, but some days. And that requires me putting on some makeup. When it's hot and sticky and disgusting outside, the following products are my confidants when it comes to staying in place.
I start with Clinque Moisture Surge. It's super light weight and absorbs super fast. Why is it that my skin is oily yet still gets dry in the summer? Thanks Obama. Bonus: I found it on sale for under $10, normally it goes for over $50!
I use my fingers and put on Benefit's Porefessional Face Primer. Does anyone really know if face primers really work? We may never know. But I like this one and it does seem to diminish pores.
Then I use the Real Techniques stippling brush and pump the It Cosmetics CC Cream on the brush(fair warning, kinda expensive, but has great coverage without looking too made up- ew.) The foundation is SPF 50 which is also super important in this heat.
For bronzer I use Bare Minerals Faux Tan using the Real Techniques Blush Brush. I then use the same blush brush for the Too Faced Sweethearts Perfect Flush Blush. I like both of these because they are more matte, which means less shiny. Which means I look less sweaty. Which is important, okay?
I just discovered Almay Wake Up Hydrating Mineral Makeup. I use it all over my face to set the makeup. It feels super cool, you'll just have to trust me on this, and it seems to make flaws disappear.
Saving the best for last. L'Oreal double extend mascara. I've talked about this product for years. There's not a better mascara out there. I know, because I've tried them. I don't know what it is about it, I'm not a scientist, but it's awesome.
If we could please pause for the greatness that is this lipstick. It's under $7 and it comes in the best colors ever. I have about 13 tubes. Don't judge me. Okay, you can. I wear this color almost everyday because I can. And because it's an easy color that goes with everything. But mainly, because I can. And it's cheap.
Oh and one more thing to help with the whole makeup-not-melting-off-my-face look. I wear a hat. I'm obsessed with this one. I might have worn it the last 5 days in a row. But that's unconfirmed.
