Why I shop the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale
Every year I wait until the Nordstrom sale to really do the bulk of my shopping. The pieces on sale will last me the entire year and then some and are always my most worn pieces.
Last year I bought hiking boots, tennis shoes, leggings, sweaters, a coat, jeans, and other staple pieces that I wear year after year. There are also high quality beauty items that I'll use for the entire year. This is also the time to stock up on gifts (like Barefoot Dreams blankets!) and so much more.
It's my favorite sale of the year and I actually wait to shop here more than any other sale! I'm excited!
I often think many who cover the sale over-buy. I only share things I personally buy and use.
What is the Nordstom Anniversary Sale?
Each year Nordstrom offers one HUGE sale with merchandise offered at a discounted rate. Nordstrom card members have earlier access (yes, things do sell out) and then it's open to the public. All NSale merchandise is offered at a great discount but it can be overwhelming. That's why I plan to share a detailed guide so you can get the best bang for your buck.
When does the Nordstom Anniversary Sale start?
The NSale officially starts July 6th with a preview June 29. The sale is open to the public starting July 15th. Here's a look at when you can shop:
- June 29: Preview the sale and start picking out what you'd like to buy!
- July 6: Those with “Icon” status can start shopping on July 12th. You can achieve this status by spending at least $15,000 a year on your Nordstrom credit card.
- July 7: “Ambassadors” can start shopping on July 14th. Achieve this status by spending at least $5,000 a year.
- July 9: If you spend $2,000 a year, you can achieve “Influencer” status. These members can access the sale on July 16.
- July 15: Sale is open to the public!
- July 31: The Anniversary Sale ends

What I Shop For at the NSale
Some of my all time favorite brands are part of the sale:
Zella – the best leggings ever! Also tried their sports bras last year as well as a fleece. Both were a win.
Barefoot Dreams – The cult blanket is worth it, but I also love the cardigans.
Spanx – best “going out” leggings and great bras.
Free People – The cutest dresses and staple sweaters.
Charlotte Tilbury – For lipstick and makeup staples.
Topshop – My most worn sweaters and basics.
Good American – By far my most worn jeans.
Steve Madden – Boots and booties galore.
Olaplex – My favorite hair care.

Just looking at these pictures above I definitely wore everything multiple times! I think I brought the skirt on at least 5 trips! I love things I can wear throughout the year.
This year Nordstrom has some extra fun incentives for shipping in store such as restaurant week, for 3 courses for $35 and happy hours. I prefer to shop online since there are more options for sizes and colors.
Nordstrom Sale Best Practices
The reason why I go into detail is because things sell out fast during Early Access. So I try to be up front about what I think you really need.
Nordstrom card members can earn double points for shopping the sale and you can even schedule a Double points day when you know you're going to make a big purchase.
I like to make a wish list of my favorite things during the June 29 Preview so I can plan ahead!
Before the sale starts:
- First, sign up for a Nordstrom card. This is the best way to save money during the sale.
- Mark your calendars for when you can shop the sale. Sale dates above! Early Access starting July 7th and open to the public July 15 at 9:30AM ET. You MUST be a cardholder to access the sale during Early Access. Otherwise, you can start shopping on July 15 during Public Access. If you notice, this is much eariler than years prior!
- Start planning your picks by adding them to your online wish list.
- When the sale starts, go to Nordstrom and Heleneinbetweencom for all the details!
I prefer to shop online and do an in-store pickup to avoid the crowds and ensure I get my right sizing. Shipping is free and next day delivery is only $20 so there are tons of perks. Ig items are in stock from your local store you can have them delivered to you on the same day for just $15!
Nordstrom also has the best return policy on earth. You buy something and realize you don't like it, you can easily return it!

2022 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Preview and Wish list
I scoured the Nordstrom Preview to make sure to share the best of the best! I sorted through over 35,00 items to bring you the best!
Spanx Faux Leather Leggings – classic staple! I've had mine for 3+ years.
Zella Live in High Waist Leggings – I'll be buying multiple pairs in various fits and colors. These are my all time favorite leggings and I buy at least 1 pair a year. If I only buy one, it's the Live in High Waist pocket 7/8 legging. I get a medium.
Barefoot Dreams Cozy Chic Circle Cardigan – It's a must. I'm OBSESSED with mine and am buying in a new color this year because I wear it so often. Comes in 6 colors and will sell out!
Free People Swim Too Deep Turtleneck Sweater – My favorite item last year was the Free People chunky sweater! This year's looks SO cute. A bit longer and comes in 5 colors. These dols out fast last year. Runs large, size one down.
Spanx Go Lightly Crop tank – I always buy a couple tanks for the sale and this one has great reviews.
Padmia Chelsea Boot – These chunky boots are a great twist on classic booties and are a great fall staple.
True & Co Body Triangle Lace Racerback Bralette – I've bene waiting for this to go on sale! In my opinion, skip the Spanx Bra-llelujah bra. I tried it last year and just didn't think it was all that great. I also am going to try this True & Co V neck bralette.
Asics Gel-Kayano 27 Running Shoe – I've been wearing Asics forever! So excited to see these parked off more than $60.
Zella Studio Lite Longline Bra – This is my ALL TIME favorite sports bra I've ever owned. I plan on buying one in literally every color this year. I feel like no one talks about it! I get a medium.
Moonlight Luxe Comfort Layer Long Sleeve T-shirt – I scoured the Norstrom site and this is your best value. Comes in 3 colors.
Halogen Rib Cardigan – this is going to sell fast! This is the perfect tailored but chunky cardigan for the Fall! Comes in 4 colors.
Calson Open Front Cardigan – Looking for a longer line cardigan – I love this brand!
Kut From the Kloth Elizabeth Fab Ab High Waist Raw Hem Ankle Jeans – I got a pair of Kut from theKloth denim last year and they were SO GOOD. I got the skinny jean version so I'm going to get this pair this year.
Vero Moda Chaddie Floral Long Sleeve Ruched Minidress– I always buy a couple dresses during the sale – my fav are some easy dresses I can transition from Summer to Fall. Also loving this Floral Long Sleeve Chiffon Dress.
Cece Puff Sleeve Crepe Top – love a good statement top and there are a couple I have my eye on this year. I also like this Puff sleeve dot top. This one comes in 6 colors.
Kut from the Kloth Faux Suede Moto Jacket – I loooove this year's sale jacket! And at $59 it's a greally good price and comes in 3 colors.
Spanx Skort – I'm into skorts y'all. I got a couple for the pool and playing tennis. So comfy. Comes in black and white.
Free People Oversize Tie Dye T-Shirt – I absolutely love the look of this fit! Comes in 3 colors. I couild see myself buying all 3. Would pair so cute with leggings.
Free People Leo Henley – I love the oversize Free People tops and this is when I stock up. This cute lightweight henley is perfect for the Fall. Also love the curved hemline- so flattering. Runs large, order one size down!
BDG Urban Outfitters Brendan Flannel Shirt – I buy a flannel every year and I am digging the colors this year!
Treasure & Nond V Neck Sweater – Comes in 4 colors and is a heathered knit that's perfect for Fall.
BB Dakota V Neck Sweater dress – My most worn item during Fall and winter is a sweater dress. I love that this comes in Camel (and black).
Allsaints Rita Oversize One-Shoulder Long Sleeve Tee– I can never have enough white shirts. I love the slouchy look of this one.
Good American Good Waist Distressed Ankle Jeans – I got the black pair last year and I have never received SO MANY compliments on jeans. Got to get another pair. Also looking at these straight leg jeans.
Ugg Cecilia V-Neck Sweater – Super cute and cozy – this would be great near a fireplace or lounging in leggings.
BlankNYC Horizontal Cable Crewneck Sweater – I probably have too many cable knit sweaters in my life, but this is just too cute to pass up. I love the unique take on a classic. There's also this option which is more traditional.
BlankNYC Marled Crop Open Front Cardigan – This chunky cardigan looks uber cozy. and something grandma knit. I'm here for it.
Caslon Cowl Neck Sweater – These are a best seller every year. They come in 5 colors and at $29, it's a good deal. I also like how it's a bit longer in the back to make for a flattering silhouette.
Open Edit Women's Polo Sweater – I know, I know. SO MANY SWEATERS. But too many cute ones! I love this color and the buttons.
BP. Fitted Long Sleeve Rib Dress – Super cute sweater dress that will go with heels or tennis shoes. $26 and comes in 3 colors.

Floral Ruffle Mini Shirtdress – This is the last dress. I just love dresses so much for travle or going out to dinner! Plus you could pair this with tights and wear it in the winter. There's also a similar one in leopard print.

The North Face Acropolis Water Repellent Parka – This isn't cheap but if you're in need of a good coat, this is it!
The North Face Insulated Jacket – If you don't need such a heavy duty jacket, this is a great option too.
Levi's Ex-Boyfriend Denim Trucker Jacket – Classic denim jacket, this heavy weight denim is a great piece to have in your closet.
Blank NYC Faux Shearling Jacket – So cute and cozy, perfect for winter nights. Also like this similar one from Madewell.
Vince Camuto Afelia Knee High Boot – Y'all, please do not sell these out before I get to them. I think these are just STUNNING. I've beeen scouring the site for over the knee boots. I am in love. Also come in wide calf!
Frye Carson Piping Bootie – How cute are these booties?! A little on the pricey side but Frye is such a great brand and these will last you for years. Come in 3 colors.
Haleen Over the Knee Boot – A more classic look for over the knee style. Come in cognac and black. I think $160 is super great price.
Timberland Courmayeur Valley Water Resistant Hiking Boot – I love the style of these and that they are water resistant! Truth be told, I don't know how great these will be for hiking, might be better for walking around town.
BP Hailey Western Mule – Only $40 for these classic mules.
Treasure & Bond Nova Animal Print Mule – These statement slip on shoes are perfect with jeans.
