I don't wear makeup everyday. Especially during the week, I choose sleep over beauty. But on the weekends I like to take it up a notch. One of my favorite blogs to read on everything makeup and beauty is Maskcara. She always looks flawless, and I wanted to try one of her most popular techniques: Highlighting and Contouring your face with makeup.
Think Kim Kardashian but less extreme.
So, I went to Ulta and picked up some new makeup, even got some of her recommendations (and some much cheaper versions).
I laid everything out and decided to document my transformation on the blog.
I mean, I knew I was just going to look so good. 10 pounds lighter, make my eyes pop, pouty lips, the whole 9.
Here's what I used:
1. Stippling Brush 2. Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush 3. Powder brush 4. Bahama Mama Bronzer from the Balm 5. Concealer brush 4. NYX Lip Pencil 4. NYX Photo Concealer (this has a yellow base, which she recommends) 4. Rimmel London Scandal Eyes in Nude
I thought it would be easy. I thought wrong. But don't worry I documented the whole thing.
Sorry about the lighting. But you get it. I looked like this:
A scary, clown, Elvira. At least it works for Halloween.
After about 4 tries, I looked like this:
Practice makes perfect. I might just leave makeup to the experts. I somehow feel like my smile is creepier even with the makeup on.
I don't think I could get any weirder.
