As I get older, the act of giving becomes more important than receiving. I want to show people that I appreciate them and what they do. I want to give extra, or make it special. Michael and I are on our neighborhood board as the “welcoming committee.” That means we welcome the new neighbors and give them information. It’s a fairly easy job, and really doesn’t take that much time out of our schedule. The other members of the board however, have much bigger jobs.
One lady in particular does it all: the newsletter, the meeting notes, the crime watch- and even the reports on any crime in the neighborhood
Since she’s done so much for our neighborhood I wanted a way to give something back to her.
It’s not always easy to give people a gift, especially one that seems heartfelt. But then I got the idea of a gift basket. Filled with things she could actually use, or just make her smile. After all, when you give extra, you get extra!
So what’s in the basket? Well, anything to help brighten her day or make it extra special!
Extra Gum was the perfect centerpiece since she always goes above and beyond to give extra. Don’t forget to give extra, this holiday season! Do you have any #ExtraGumMoments? Who in your life could use a little extra? Thanks to #CollectiveBias for opportunity to give extra!
