What is it with guys and getting dressed? I think they come from the womb believing that t-shirts with holes in them are appropriate dinner wear. They seem to collectively loathe dressing up for any occasion. Well, it’s officially wedding season. That means bridal and couples showers, engagement parties, rehearsal dinners, and of course the big day. That can mean a lot for your wardrobe, especially for a guy. My husband would like to live in his shorts, tank tops, and of course, the elusive wolf T-shirt if he had his way.
|I guess this is my fault, after all, I gave him this shirt.|
Whenever it’s a nice occasion, especially for wedding season, it’s a battle. He wants to wear something more comfortable. I want him to dress nicely. Smart, casual can be hard for a guy to understand. But during this time of year it’s imperative to dress nicely, even when it’s blistering hot outside.
Some tactics I’ve used in the past:
Promise that he can wear whatever he wants… tomorrow.
Go shopping with him.
Say that shirt he always wears is in the wash.
Bribe him to dress up with the idea of an open bar at the party/wedding.
Compliment him abundantly when he does make the effort.
Buy him something new to wear and ask him to wear his new belonging.
The best solution is when he find clothes that he wants to wear. Then there’s no begging involved. That’s where Politix comes in. It’s full of cool clothes guys are actually willing to wear. That way we’re both happy.
Especially if he think it’s his idea to dress up, then he’ll do it naturally without me coaxing him.
I always think Michael looks best when he’s dressed up. Whether it’s in a tailored jacket, a nice cardigan or he goes all out with a spiffy suit, a well dressed man is instantly attractive. After all, every girl’s crazy ’bout a sharp dressed man!
Even he agrees, he looks best when he’s dressed up! Although that wolf shirt does make me laugh, I could really stand to throw out some of those t-shirts that seem to be missing sleeves or the shirts that seem to be missing well, the shirt.
